That means playing Warriors of the North feels a whole lot like playing The Legend or Armored Princess. He doesn’t like the dark, rather hopeless tone, but tries to somehow conflate that as a D&D issue because it’s different than the previous games. Be honest, if you change the game too much there would be always angry mob saying "it's completely changed!" Then the enemy will do the same with there team and it goes on until one of you has kill the others companions but the fights seem to go on forever and get boring really quickly also there is a auto fight button in the corner which I think is pointless because it removes the player from the game and it essentially becomes a film or program where you watch the fight and do nothing. The first time I played it I was enjoying it because it was like no game I had ever played before. The current tale takes place in the familiar world of Endoria featured in the earlier games, but begins in the Viking lands, which the celebrated hero Bill Gilbert never visited during his famous quest in King’s Bounty: The Legend. I loved it in the original so I can quickly navigate what is what. The game prices at £24.99 but I would not say to go spend that much on it maybe if your interested play one of the other games first before getting this one and see what you think or wait for the sale but this game was dull, got boring very quickly and I’m sorry to say I’m going to have to give it a scoring of 2/5. Viking troops get more combat runes than other troops, which gives them a small advantage in battle.Warriors of the North works well enough, but it has two significant issues. King's Bounty would benefit from a revolution - a sequel built from the ground up. I really liked The Legend when I played it a few years ago, but now it feels like I'm playing the exact same game for the third time, and it's getting old. // ]]> Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the Ars review. As far as structure goes, Warriors of the North (and the other King's Bounty titles) are organized just like an RPG, where NPCs and enemy armies wait for you to show up. For X-Com it's just Long War and go. Not as good and/or fun as the previous titles in the series. If you liked the first game or Armord Princess you'll love this. It is Viking territory so be prepared to see a lot of fur and horned helmets and your character battles to defeat the undead and help the land return to its former glory. You start as a pathetic nobody apparently, and it’s trite to have everybody automatically know you’re The Hero. The main difference between the games is that instead of having spirits of rage (The Legend) or pet dragons (Armored Princess), you meet five Valkyries, and they control most of your rage talents. The first time I played it I was enjoying it because it was like no game I had ever played before. So early in the game you might have several archers in one troop and a single giant in another, because giants require more leadership than archers.Your hero has equipment, stats, and a spellbook, and he gains experience and levels, but he doesn't participate directly in battles, which occur when your army encounters an enemy army. Be it the use of the same graphics/engine for the third time, the weird viking. There is also a new Viking faction, which include battle maidens (fast melee units that can resurrect fallen allies), soothsayers (who can cause snowstorms), and jarls (slow moving tanks). Most rage talents simply cause damage in Warriors of the North, but spells can do all sorts of things, from damaging enemies to buffing your troops to turning enemies into harmless sheep.Along with regular battles against enemy armies, you also sometimes encounter enemy heroes (who can cast spells just like your hero) and special bosses (where you're not allowed to use rage talents). I feel ya! I understand the feeling, but it IS a good game. Most gamers will tell you it is the type of game that you plan to play in your spare time, but it draws you in and challenges you to the point that you do not want to give up, take a break, or turn off the computer.
