From here, the trail climbs gently, passing the junctions with the Elk Prairie Trail and the Rhododendron Trail, before coming to its end at the Circle Trail. What a great day! Easy walking trail with a beautiful sample of the Redwoods. It is a fairly easy trail-- we hiked through with a baby strapped to one of us with no problems. It wasn't a long or difficult hike/walk, and absolutely majestic. There were lots of trees and plants. Really makes you feel like you’re in some enchanted forest. This tour takes you through the beautiful evergreens of Oregon, and back through Washington State. Nice that it is easily accessible from 101. Trailhead access from Irving Avenue. Also passes by Big Tree. From the small Irving Avenue Trailhead, take the Richard Fencsak Cathedral Tree Trail behind a white gate (Fencsak was a trail builder and owner of a local bike shop). We missed the Foothills Trail junction at the end (the only point where they did not have a clear sign to continue on Cathedral trail), but we figured that out fairly quickly, and only had to backtrack a little.
